On September 11th, AT&T will release its first plug-and-play vehicle Wi-Fi hotspot add-on. The ZTE Mobley will plug into the OBD-II port on your vehicle and provide 4G LTE-speed Internet access for up to five devices. It's powered by the Qualcomm MDM9215 processor and will power on and off with your car's engine. Most vehicles made in 1996 or later feature an OBD-II port, giving consumers with cars now 20 years old a simple solution for instant hotspot connectivity.
The devices will cost $100 off-contract, or will be offered free with a two-year plan. The service plan will be $20 for 1GB of data, $30 for 3GB, and $40 to have the Mobley added to your AT&T Mobile Value Share plan.
