Google has announced that its Android Wear software for smartwatches will now work with iOS. Your iPhone 5, 5c, 5s, 6, or 6 Plus running iOS 8.2+ will all now be able to pair with your Android Wear watch to bring information to your wrist.

Although currently only the LG Watch Urbane is officially supported, all subsequent Android Wear watches including the upcoming Huawei, Asus, and Motorola watches will be compatible. Many users have also been having success getting their older watches to work. The announcement creates a new option of well-priced smartwatches for iPhone owners looking for an alternative to the Apple Watch.

Although the Android Wear watches will not be able to do as much as the Apple Watch, many of the features such as notifications, Google Now cards, weather, voice search, fitness tracking on Google Fit do work.
