GoPro has announced its latest addition to its waterproof action cameras, the Hero4 Session, which is the company's smallest unit yet. Coming in at half the size, and nearly half the weight of the company's best-selling Hero4 camera lines, the Hero4 Session packs all of the same great technology. The Hero4 Session captures 1080p video, along with 8MP still photos. Operating the device is quite simple as well.
A short press of the shutter button powers on the camera and it will automatically begin recording. If you long press the shutter button, the camera powers on, but this time begins Time Lapse photo captures. Pressing the shutter button again will save the photo or videos and then power the camera back off. Unfortunately, there is no display to see exactly what you are capturing, but with the use of GoPro's app or Smart Remote, users can take further control of the device from their smartphones.
The GoPro Hero4 Session will be available beginning on July 12, with a price tag of $399.
