An interesting feature of the Samsung Galaxy Gear is the built-in location option. This means that if you misplace either your mobile device or your wearable each has the ability to locate the other as long as they are connected and still within Bluetooth range (30 feet). If you are searching for your Galaxy Gear the locate option is enabled through the Gear Manager. When activated, the Gear produces a loud tone until you find it and deactivate it by swiping the screen.
Now that we know how to locate the Gear using your mobile device, it is time to learn how the reverse is accomplished. Again, both need to be connected and in range of one another in order to work. Enabling this feature causes your smartphone to produce a loud tone and vibrate.
