Wearable makers are aggressively targeting the Indian market, with Misfit becoming the latest vendor to launch its wares in the country. At launch, customers will be able to purchase the Shine, Flash and Link wearables exclusively on e-commerce site Snapdeal.
Misfit Shine is a tracker that uses a three-axis accelerometer to measure steps, calories, distance, and light and deep sleep. The tracker can distinguish between different kinds of activity, such as walking, running, cycling, football, swimming, dance and more. Shine can be accessorized with a leather band or can even be worn as a necklace, with the clip-on monitor available for ₹5,499 ($82).
The Flash activity tracker features the same tracking metrics as the Shine, and is available in a series of brightly colored plastic bands. Both the Shine and Flash come with the ability to sync your activity data to the Misfit app, available for Android and iOS. Flash is retailing in India for ₹2,499 ($38).
Misfit Link is the most affordable fitness tracker on offer with the vendor, coming in at just ₹1,999 ($30). In addition to tracking activity, Link can be used as a "Smart Button" which allowing you to take a selfie with your phone camera app, control music playback on Spotify, Soundcloud, Play Music and more, as well as the ability to advance slides in a presentation.
One of the differentiating features of Misfit's range of wearables is that you don't have to charge them, with the built-in CR2032 coin cell lasting for six months.
