Need better quality images from your smartphone? Don't want to carry around a full SLR setup? The Olympus Air A01 is pocketable 16 megapixel camera that is similar to the Sony QX1 in that it works off of your smartphone. Full lens interchangeability allows you to attach lenses to it's Micro Four Thirds (MFT) mount. The A01 connects your smartphone via Wi-Fi, and can save content directly to your phone or its internal microSD card. The 4/3 Live MOS Sensor allows for shooting of up to 10 frames per second and has a 1/16000 shutter. Included is a smartphone mount, and unlike the QX1, it holds the phone at an angle allowing for a better view of your phone screen while taking overhead pictures.
One of the negatives is that there is no image stabilization, but because of the micro 4/3 mount, you can use lenses with OIS built-in. It's also not the easiest device to hold once larger lenses are attached.
That being said, it's a great device for anyone looking to improve their pictures and still do it from their phone. The Olympus Air A01 camera body retails for $299, or $499 with the 14-42mm kit lens.
