Pebble Steel hands-on photo gallery

We got a chance to go hands-on with the Pebble Steel and check this beauty out from all angles. It's definitely an eye catcher — especially when side-by-side with the current Pebble. You can see from the front of the Pebble Steel that it's much more refined in this version, but the back remains mostly the same.

We got to play around with both the Brushed Stainless and Black Matte versions as well as the metal and leather bands. We're definitely excited for this one to hit the street but for now these photos will have to suffice. Check out the full gallery and let us know what you think!

The new steel watches look really nice! That said, I can't personally justify an upgrade from my current pebble for the price. It doesn't really do anything different, and it seems like the same pebble in a new shell + a small LED, which since the watch face is always on I don't think would do much for me. I do like where they are going though and am looking forward to all of the new software changes!

I feel the same. As much as I like the new look, I can't see buying one for the smaller, sleeker form factor. Had the Steel been available when I made my original purchase, I probably would have spent the extra $100.

Looks like non-standard lugs which means no-go for using fixed width standard 22mm watch bands :(. Boo.

Yeah, looks like they went with the proprietary watch band for a reason. Maybe sell a line of colored or custom bands. I'd like to see the black face with the silver band.
