Philips has launched the highly-anticipated Hue lightbulbs in India, with the starter kit now available on Snapdeal for ₹16,995 ($260). The kit consists of three 9W Hue bulbs along with the Hue Bridge, which acts as the controller for the lights. The Hue Bridge comes with an Ethernet cable that you need to connect to your router, which gives you the ability to control the lighting of the Hue bulbs wirelessly using the app for iOS and Android.
Philips is also launching Hue Go, Hue Beyond, LightStrips and Bloom in the country, with the products available at Philips Light Lounges along with select retail outlets of Croma and Reliance Digital in addition to Snapdeal.
Extensibility is one of the main features of Hue, with third-party app integration allowing you ingrained control over the lighting. For instance, you can connect your Hue lights to IFTTT and set recipes to change the lighting based on the time of day, email or social network-related notifications, or even when your favorite team scores.
