The Plex media streaming app is now available for Sony's PlayStation 3 and PlayStation 4 console owners in the US, Canada and Latin America. The app was previously released for European PlayStation owners in December.

At the moment, the Plex app for PlayStation can only stream videos from a PC, but Sony says that support for streaming images and music will be "coming shorty". It adds:

For those not familiar, Plex organizes all of your personal media, wherever you keep it, so you can enjoy it on any device. Whether it's your movie and TV show collection, your music library or your photos and home videos, Plex makes all your media beautiful by automatically incorporating movie posters, plot summaries, album covers and descriptions. Plex also allows you to share your media collection across all major platforms and devices as well as with your friends and family.

Currently, the Plex PlayStation apps can be accessed by people who pay for a Plex Pass account. However, it will be offered for users without that account in the future for a fee.

I've used it before. Always seem to have issues with it. But nice to see that it's making its way to the PlayStation platform. Never could get it working reliably on my Roku.
