Rachio has released the latest version of their app for controlling the Iro smart sprinkler, adding new water-saving tools, as well as integration with the Nest Protect. Rachio claims that with this update, Iro owners can lower their water usage by as much as 30 percent.
Rachio has added a number of useful little features. You can now select your weather station from the app's Setting page. You can also add custom nozzles, and toggle your Iro on and off from a slider. Zones have been reworked, and all settings can now be enabled or disabled in a single selection. Rachio has also tweaked their Evapotranspiration algorithms to make it easier for Iro to identify the bare minimum of water needed.
The Nest Protect integration will help keep any fire away from your neighbors. When the smoke alarm goes off for a set period of time, your Iro sprinklers will automatically cycle around your house, keeping the fire contained.
You can download the latest update to the Rachio Iro app, version 1.7, from the Google Play Store right now.
