Samsung's recently-launched Gear S smartwatch now has a software development kit that will allow third-party developers to make apps for the Tizen-based devices.
The announcement was made as part of the company's Samsung Developer Conference in San Francisco today. Samsung said:
The Gear S SDK enables developers to create exciting, unique applications that harness network and location data by capitalising on the cellular functions, richer notifications and advanced UI of the device.
There's plenty-more coming out of the Samsung Developer Conference later today, including the Gear VR Innovator Edition, Project Beyond, and the Samsung Digital Health platform. Stay tuned for our continuing coverage from the conference.
