Sony and Vueling putting your boarding card on your wrist

Sony has today announced a partnership with Spanish airline, Vueling, to bring what it says is the "world's first wearable boarding pass" to the Smartwatch 2. The app is due to launch through Google Play later on this month, and will let you display the QR code you'd see on a mobile boarding pass on your wrist instead of your phone.

The watch app will also double up as a flight tracker for your Vueling trips, keeping you up to date with all current info while your phone stays stowed in your pocket. It was perhaps only a matter of time before we saw something like this emerge, and it'll be exciting to see how many other airlines around the world try something like this.

It comes just 24 hours after Google announced Android Wear, showing off similar functionality to this in one of its promotional videos. The implementation may be different, but the end result will likely be the same. So, Smartwatch 2 owners; which airlines do you want to see next?
