Sony's big update for the PlayStation 4 begins rolling out

Today's the day Sony is expected to release a major PlayStation 4 software update and it appears as though the company has kicked off the rollout. According to Eurogamer, the update is now available in the UK. Codenamed Masamune, update 2.00 includes numerous new features including background system themes.

We've already covered what's new in Masamune, so be sure to check out the full list of changes. In short PS4 owners will be able to plug in a USB storage device and play their own background music via the new USB Music Player. It will also be possible to add a new theme and alter the color of the standard theme to one of seven options.

I'm excited, but more for the streaming game sharing stuff. It is really cool that you can be sitting on two different couches and hand over control to someone else. Would work great with my brother who lives hundreds of miles away. Let's see how it ends up really working though!

Perhaps in a few years. I'm sticking with my PS3 for a while yet.

Update is awesome minus psn not working for the first day or two after because everyone downloading update.
