Stephen Colbert thinks your connected cup is stupid

"Wait. A digital cup that can tell me what's in the cup, and how many calories, and allow me to drink it? That level of information was previously available only on the can you just poured it out of!"

Silly projects aren't anything new on Kickstarter, nor are serious projects that seem kind of silly once you're looking at it from the outside. Take Vessyl, for instance. A smart cup that can tell you what you've just poured into that cup, all in real time. Unless you're in the habit of drinking mystery liquids and carrying around a special cup with you — one that, we should note, is capable of holding liquid and standing upright (what cup do you know that can capably do that, hmmm?) — you might be questioning what it is you're getting into. Or pouring into. We're not sure, and we're not sure why, and neither is comedian Stephen Colbert of The Colbert Report:

Stephen Colbert thinks your connected cup is stupid

Saw this on facebook, one of my friends backed it. Seriously silly, how is this helpful handy or just not plan silly.

Wow - that is so cutting edge - I must get one in real time, in early 2015! I can only hope and pray I manage to stay hydrated until then with my current analog hydration devices.
