While Talk2Watch Pro has only just been released, the developer is still working hard on bringing new features and two days later we have a feature called BBM Contact Manager. This now lets you see the content of BBM Group messages and assign a name to notifications so you know who sent the BBM alert or which BBM Group is active. You still can't see the content of individual BBM messages but you can see who sent them and that's a huge bonus.
You will have to do some setting up to get this all up and running. It won't take too long and you don't have to do it for everyone. You could just set it up for your main contacts and then turn off notifications from unknown contacts (those of which you don't assign a name to). To get started tick all options in the BBM settings so that you will be notified of all BBM messages. Each one that comes through will have a Contact ID. Enter these details in the Contacts section found in BBM settings within Talk2Watch Pro. For BBM Groups there will be a Group ID and a Contact ID. Once your have these assigned, any future messages will be labelled as such.
This update is still not headless, so it will need to run in an Active Frame. A headless one is being worked on but there are many things to consider just know that it is something in the roadmap.
You can check out our walkthrough of Talk2Watch Pro if you haven't seen it yet.
