Heart rate trackers are one of the big new features for smartwatches this year, so it's only natural that we'd also see health-monitoring capabilities of this kind appearing in more traditional GPS watches. That's exactly what TomTom has done with its latest Runner Cardio and Multi-Sport Cardio wearables, which include Gear 2-style optical heart rate-tracking sensors behind their watchfaces. The new fitness watches let you train based on five preset intensity levels, and sports a waterproof design and 8 hours battery life for GPS and heart rate tracking together, or 10 hours on GPS only.

The TomTom Runner Cardio watch is available to pre-order now for £250 ($416), while the more versatile Multi-Sport Cardio watch will cost £280 ($466).
