ZTE reveals CES plans for 'BlueWatch' smartwatch

By Adam Zeis on 3 Jan 2014 03:54 pm

It's been rumored for a few weeks now but it does indeed look like ZTE will be offering up a new smartwatch. Dubbed BlueWatch, the smartwatch will be a combination of watch and fitness tracker as it will feature "on-wrist control" as well as a pedometer and other "quantified self" information.

ZTE is also introducing its first smart watch, the BlueWatch, which features a built-in pedometer, and records and analyzes data around the clock, giving users access to interesting “quantified self” information like body fat percentage. The watch tethers to a smartphone via Bluetooth, enabling on-wrist control of calls, content, photography, and social media platforms like Facebook and Twitter.

No word on pricing or a release date just yet, but we'll be sure to find out plenty more next week when we hit the show floor at CES. Be sure to check out all of our ongoing coverage here.
