The founder of Tesla Motors, Elon Musk, claims that "range anxiety" for the company's entire Model S fleet of electric cars will end via an upcoming software update. Details about this development will be announced via a press conference to be held on Thursday, March 19.

Musk used his Twitter account to reveal plans for the press event and the update:

Tesla press conf at 9am on Thurs. About to end range anxiety ... via OTA software update. Affects entire Model S fleet.

There's no telling exactly what this software update will do for owners of the Tesla Model S. It's possible that the Tesla team have found a way to add some more range to these electric cars just with a software patch. The cars currently has an upper limit of 256 miles. We will learn more on Thursday.
