Gucci partners with to launch new smart wearable
By Rich Edmonds on 19 Mar 2015 08:59 am is no stranger to wearable tech, but the musician is now working with Gucci on a new wearable. Alongside the announcement that Tag Heuer would be working with Google and Intel on a new Android Wear smartwatch, news came from Baseworld of the Gucci partnership. said the following in a statement:

"In developing together a device that is both fashionable and technologically advanced, we will create something that is unique in the marketplace. From the very start, I coined the term 'fashionology,' a merging of the worlds of fashion and technology, which is exactly what this collaboration with Gucci represents."

The two parties will be working on a smartband, which will be a standalone product and will require tethering to a smartphone via Bluetooth. The band itself will be able to make and receive calls, send SMS and email, playback music, show maps and track fitness. There's also a personalized assistant with voice command input. It sounds like quite the advanced wearable.

Details on pricing, availability and expected dates for launch have not been shared.

I'll pass. People at Gucci stores are kinda rude. Versace on the other hand, super nice.
