Introducing Watch2Watch for BlackBerry 10 Pebble users

By DJ Reyes on 7 Feb 2014 01:17 pm

As of right now BlackBerry 10 Pebble owners don’t have much of a choice when it comes to apps and it isn’t even officially supported by Pebble themselves. However, users do have a pretty full-featured app in the form of Talk2Watch. The developer is working very hard to bring lots new features to the app as well as improving the overall experience. He has also recently created an API for other developers to use to develop apps that would work like companion apps to Talk2Watch. One such app that has been developed is Watch2Watch, which is currently in beta in the Smartwatch Fans forums.

The idea behind the app is to allow you to directly send a message to a Pebble watch provided you know its PIN (last four characters of your Pebble Bluetooth/Serial number). You send a message from the Watch2Watch app on your BlackBerry 10 device and it will go straight to the recipient’s Pebble. They can then reply with a preset message or reply via the Watch2Watch app.

As already mentioned the app is currently in beta and the developer is calling to the Smartwatch Fans BlackBerry 10 Pebble users to put the app through its paces. I’ve been using it for a bit and it’s a nifty little feature. I love the idea of being able to create canned responses to quickly respond.

You can check out a quick video walkthrough above to see it in action and if you’re interested in taking part in the beta, you can head into the Smartwatch Fans forums and let the developer know.

It's Stream and you have to contact the Dev on BBM channels to get the beta. I don't think it's been updated in quite a while.
