Motorola introduces their Android Wear smartwatch, the Moto 360

Google has just announced their new Android Wear platform, and already we're seeing what's to come. Motorola has reveled their smartwatch offering, the Moto 360.

The Moto 360 features a simple, classic design but thanks to Android Wear, it will also give you notifications and let you perform voice commands. From the looks of it here it's not screaming "smartwatch", but going with a much more elegant look on the outside

Moto 360 keeps you on time and up to date without taking you out of the moment or distracting you, telling you what you need to know before you know you need it through subtle alerts and notifications. With just a twist of the wrist you can see who’s emailing or calling, what time your next meeting is or a friend’s latest social post.

No pricing or other specs are available for now, but the Moto 360 is scheduled for release this summer in the US.

I'm glad to see the company that pioneered the use of a circular display in the Motorola Aura phone has done it again. This is enough to make me switch back to Android from WP!

Well I just picked up two Galaxy Gears for $100 each here in Toronto today and I don't feel too bad about it. However, seeing the design behind the Moto 360 I'm seriously impressed. Will be watching for this one for sure.

Oh man! This is everything I want... Minus the heart rate monitor.

Very impressive! I do think Pebble will be in trouble unless they can capitalize on an Android Wear watch.

this makes me want to seriously consider a smart watch...pebble make me think about them, this makes me want to actually get one.

As soon as they announce that it's waterproof, my credit card will be out.

Exactly what I've been wanting from a smartwatch. Looks like 2014 is the year. Pebble generated the interest, but they're going to quickly fade to obsolescence if they don't adapt FAST. This is a huge leap from a monster company (Google) and very experienced manufacturer (Motorola). Can't wait.

Love my Pebble, but I'm way impressed, this would need to be under $250 to get my attention.

Looks swish. Can I justify 2 smartwatches? Can I justify a £2k watch being made redundant?

Aaaaaaaaaarrrrrggghh.

I'm intrigued for sure but I really can't wait to see some more specific information on it. I've been holding off on buying a smart watch because I don't want to waste my money on a watch that doesn't meet my needs. Here's hoping that this one can be it.
