The minds behind the Neptune Pine have more ideas in the hopper than just and Android-powered watch. They've teamed up with Pearl Studios, the folks behind the Misfit Shine, and will take on an entire line of new wearable devices.

Neptune Computer founder and CEO Simon Tian told Gigaom that the new partnership will first go after a new wearable device that focuses on authentication, something that could be a key to a door or act as authentication for computers. They'll stay away from fitness-oriented wearables since there are so many on the market already, but their next device could be available as soon as next year.

The Neptune Pine had a successful run on Kickstarter, raising over $800k. Units are set to begin shipping to backers in just a few weeks.
