The Pebble app on Android has had a relatively rocky start since the revamped version 2.0 was announced, but the latest update to version 2.0.15 of the app is promising to fix many common issues. Folks who have experienced intermittent Bluetooth connections, crashes, troubles pairing and issues using multiple Pebble devices should see many of their worries put to rest with the latest update.

The full changelog:

  • Improved overall stability
  • Improved performance in app load times and responsiveness
  • Improved Bluetooth connection reliability, especially for sports and fitness applications
  • Support for selecting a Pebble from multiple paired Pebbles
  • Ability to connect to a Pebble when there is no internet connection
  • Added notifications for firmware updates (when app is foregrounded)

The latest update is available in the Play Store now.

2.0 has always been pretty good with my pebble. That app has been slow but my pebble has performed perfectly even since some 2.0 betas.

This is something I'm glad to see: Ability to connect to a Pebble when there is no internet connection

I sometimes work in areas without service and leave my phone in the truck, then it won't connect till I get service. Glad this is fixed.

Ever since I got my Pebble a couple of months ago I found the software to be buggy to an extent where I stopped using it. This update has the necessary improvements where I'm wearing the Pebble every day and am happy with the experience I'm receiving.

It's good to see them taking on users views.

I've been having serious issues with my Bluetooth connection since installing this latest update. My Z30 doesn't want to connect to my Jabra unit in my car and won't even recognize it. I will try in my fiancée's truck tonight to see if it still connects to that. I've also had issues with it connecting to my Pebble. I've had to delete the connection and restart the phone a few times because it just sits there in a "trying to connect" loop. Once its in that loop, the Bluetooth becomes completely unresponsive. Once I get my watchfaces and apps sorted out, I'm deleting the Pebble app and hoping for the best.

Yes I know that I am running an Android app on a BlackBerry device so I shouldn't expect it to work perfectly. I will say that the previous version of the Pebble app was giving me no problems. Its only since this last update that I've been having Bluetooth issues.
