Sony has now extended its open beta of the PlayStation Now gaming streaming service to owners of the older PlayStation 3 console in the US and parts of Canada, after previously launching the beta for PS4 owners.

Sony says that the open beta now has over 150 PS3 games available to rent and stream, While there were some very high rental prices at first when the beta began, Sony now says, " ... in most cases, you can rent a game for an entire week for about $1 a day." It added that it was still working on creating a Netflix-style subscription option for the service.

PlayStation Now will eventually be offered for owners of its PS Vita portable game console, along with many of Sony's "smart" Bravia televisions. What do you think of Sony expanding the open beta to include the PS3?
