Sony may be having a lot of success with the PlayStation 4 game console, but apparently its smaller PlayStation TV is having less luck in the US. Several retailers are now selling the PlayStation TV for as much as $40 less than what the console first sold less than three months ago.

The report from GameSpot states that Amazon, Walmart, Best Buy and others are selling the basic PlayStation TV, which can play PS Vita games as well as stream local PS4 games, for $79.99, compared to its October launch price of $99.99. The PlayStation TV bundle, which includes the console, a free game, and an 8GB memory card, has been cut even more, from $139.99 to just $99.99.

Sony has yet to comment about the price cut, including if it is permanent or if its just a temporary promotional price.
