PSA: The latest Pebble for iPhone update isn't a good one

By Adam Zeis on 31 Mar 2014 03:25 pm

We're getting tips from a slew of readers who have updated their Pebble app today, only to be left with a non-functioning watch. The update is crashing at launch and rendering itself useless, making for a lot of unhappy Pebble owners.

"Today we experienced an issue deploying version 2.1 of the Pebble iOS smartphone app. We’ve pulled the update from the App Store for now. We’re working with Apple to fix this problem as quickly as possible, and will notify customers when an update is available that resolves the issue. We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience. Please check our forums for more information."

If you've already upgraded you're out of luck for now, but hopefully we'll see a quick update that addresses the issue. We'll keep you posted when a fix is available. If you are having issues, be sure to hit up the comments and let us know!

The phone still works and the notifications still happen, you just cannot update anything on the watch.

Or that's how it is for me.

Delete the bad app. Go to Purchased apps in the App Store and download version 2.0.2. You may need to log in and reinstall some watch apps.

Man glad I'm on BB10. Feel bad for the brand new Pebble owners who have a hunk of plastic for now
