Simplicam can now recognize faces and tell you who's at home

ArcSoft, the company behind Simplicam, has today announced at CES an app update will be rolled out to enable a new beta feature – facial recognition. This new functionality will be available to those who update their Simplicam iOS or Android Closeli apps.

The new Face Recognition Manager in the Closeli app allows users to register and store up to 10 people. After a two-minute setup, users can configure privacy settings for each individual and customize notifications, choosing to receive alerts when a specific registered person or an unrecognized person is in the house.

Not only will Simplicam be able to detect faces, but also recognize them against predefined and saved persons. The app can be set to automatically save or delete footage based on who is home. ArcSoft also touched on detection zones, which will arrive to enable home owners to customize motion and face alerts based on specific areas of a single room.
