Can't wait to turn on the TV when you step in the door? How about coming home to relaxing music on your home stereo system? Now, there's an integration for that thanks to SmartThings and Logitech Harmony working together to create some simple triggers that automate the whole process of connecting your entertainment system to your connected home.

For instance, if a door, motion sensor, or alarm is triggered with your SmartThings connected home accessories, then you can program your Logitech Harmony to automatically turn on your stereo or TV.

Here are a few of the triggers from the SmartThings side:

  • mode change
  • contact sensor opens/closes
  • acceleration detected
  • motion starts/stops
  • switch turned on/off
  • person, pet, or car arrives/departs
  • button press
  • scheduled time

Once those triggers are activated, here's what can happen automatically, without you doing anything, on the Logitech Harmony:

  • Turn on Cable TV When I Return Home
  • Turn off the Stereo When I Leave
  • Turn on My PlayStation or Xbox When I Change to Game Mode
  • …and much more

Is this an integration that you will appreciate and enjoy in your connected home of the future?
