Xiaomi has officially launched its fitness tracker, the Mi Band, in the Indian market today. The highlight of today's announcement is the pricing, which at ₹999 ($15) makes the Mi Band one of the most affordable wearables available in the country.

The Mi Band can track steps and your sleep activity, with the companion app displaying the statistics. The band is certified IP67, which means that you don't have to take it off in the shower, or when you go swimming. Xiaomi has also announced new features, such as the ability to unlock your phone by bringing the Mi Band in proximity to it, with the feature supported on all devices with MIUI and phones running Android 5.0 and above.

The Mi Band comes in several colorful options, including green, pink, brown, yellow and white in addition to the standard black. At this stage, Xiaomi has not shared details on availability, but it should be sooner rather than later.
