Roku has announced that it is making available a 4K reference design of Roku TV to manufacturers, with plans to launch a consumer variant sometime later this year. The streaming service already has a few models out in the market from TCL and Hisense, and is now looking to increase its portfolio by brining Haier and Insignia onboard.

Roku has mentioned that TCL will launch 12 Roku TV models over the course of the year, and that Haier and Insignia models will be hitting Best Buy shelves in summer and spring respectively. Haier's models will start at a 32-inch 720p offering, and will go all the way to a full-HD 65-inch TV. The company has not yet disclosed plans for a standalone device that offers 4K streaming, but it is possible that such a device is in the works.
